Club News

Here is a synopsis of the January membership meeting. We had 17 members + family join &/or renew their membership at the January membership meeting.  Decisions on renting out the clubhouse and repairing the roof were postponed until the February meeting. Kristina Larson, our treasurer, will be filing 2011 WHC taxes   The WHC 2012 calendar of events was approved through May 2012. WHC voted to host CSHA 2-man cattle sortings for 2012 (more info later).

WHC accepts membership year-round, but new members must attend a monthly meeting or other designated date to get the gate key. Your membership card will be mailed to you soon after you join the club. Check the newsletter and website for the designated dates.

We are still trying to have a monthly club trail ride. Unfortunately, due to insurance issues, WHC will no longer organize the ride. However, a member can plan a ride and information will be sent out by email, and with adequate notice, it will be posted in the newsletter.

Member News

On January 2nd, Carlena Kellogg rode in the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, Calif. She joined the Merced County Sheriff's Posse and rode with RFD-TV's 100 palominos float. It was an opportunity of a lifetime to ride in that nationally televised parade.

Upcoming Club Events

WHC will be hosting 3 gymkhanas and 3 western pleasure horse shows this year.

The Western Pleasure horse shows wll be in August, September, & October

WHC is working with CSHA-California State Horsemen's Assn.  to host 2-man cattle sorting as a renewed CSHA stock program. More info will follow as this program develops.
